Saco watchdog group: Look, listen and learn

To the editor:

Saco residents soon will benefit by recent council actions that will reinforce transparency in our local official transactions and discourse. For years the public was unable to hear or see what was presented at council or school board meetings. Come April, residents will see a change. The council approved spending funds to replace the audio/visual equipment in the city hall auditorium. The funds were provided through the current budget.

Saco Citizens for Sensible Government recognizes the council and employees for moving forward on this project. Transparency is an important function of government operations. This upgrade will benefit all residents, as they will be able to hear and see presentations during the meetings.

Saco Citizens for Sensible Government invites residents to be aware that there is an ability to watch council and school board meetings on the Saco city website at one’s convenience. Here is the link for future reference: http:// townhallstreams.com/locations/saco-me.

If you have any questions or concerns about what is occurring within the city or school department, it is important to reach out to your respective ward council or school board person. If you are unsure, call the city clerk’s office. The number is 284-4831.

Please contact us at input@sacocitizens.org with questions, comments or additional information.
