Boatbuilding festival will be July 16, 17 at Biddeford mill

The weekend of July 16 and 17 will be all about boats when the Biddeford Boatbuilding Festival takes over the Pepperell Mill event space.

Family teams, youth organizations and corporate sponsor groups will come together, with the help of Compass Project staff and volunteers, to build its own 10-foot motor boat in two days. Advanced registration is required to build a boat at the festival. However, the public is welcome to stop by and watch the boat builders at work and enjoy a variety of maritime related vendors, demonstrations, kids’ activities, music and food at nearby venues. The Biddeford Boatbuilding Festival is the signature fundraising event to support Compass Project’s yearround youth boatbuilding and rowing programs to provide positive direction to local youth including those who face obstacles to school success. Compass Project is a program of Engine.
