Community ‘Soup-er’ was a great success

To the editor:

I want to thank everyone who helped make the Heart of Biddeford’s second annual Community Soup-er event a huge success. More than 100 people came out to enjoy delicious soups and breads donated by local restaurants and bakeries, lively music and wonderful community spirit. Nearly $1,500 was raised for Bon Appetit Community Meal Program, Stone Soup Food Pantry and the Biddeford Food Pantry.

In particular, I want to thank Pepperell Mill campus officials for providing the space for the event, Billy Billy for providing great entertainment and the following businesses for their donations: Biscuits & Co., Custom Deluxe, Jonesy’s Main Street Cafe, Los Tapatios, Maine Coast Roast, May Mee, Native Maine Produce, New Morning Natural Foods, Portland Paper Goods, Portland Pie-Biddeford, Reilly’s Bakery, Thai ME and TJ’s Pizza. Special thanks go to Biddeford Intermediate School art teacher Kate Grant and Biddeford Middle School art teacher Liz Hawkins and all of their students who donated beautiful handmade bowls for the event. Lastly, many thanks to the wonderful Heart of Biddeford volunteers who worked hard to make this great event happen.

Amy Grohman, president Heart of Biddeford
