Celebrate National Library Week

Libby Memorial Library in Old Orchard Beach joins communities nationwide in celebrating the changes that are happening in today’s libraries. National Library Week, sponsored by the American Library Association, is a time to highlight the changing role of libraries, librarians and library workers.

From April 5 through 19 the library will host a fine-free period for patrons to return circulation materials that are overdue in exchange for donations of dog or cat food being collected for Community Animal Watch. It is typical for the library to be a resource in the community and support other nonprofit organizations.

Friends of Libby Library will be onsite on April 12 for community members to write compliments for the library’s resources, programs, and staff.
