Biddeford man earns professional driving distinction

Denis Litalien of Biddeford was named a 2016 TA/ Petro Citizen Driver during a ceremony held at the Mid- America Trucking Show held in Kentucky on April 1. The award, initiated in 2013, recognizes professional drivers that bring respect to the driving profession. Drivers that earn the award no only have exceptional driving careers but are examples of good citizens, committed to safety, community involvement and leadership. Winners of the title will also have a TA/Petro location named in their honor.

Litalien’s driving career spans more than 44 years, the past 30 with Clifford Perham Inc./Shaws Supermarkets. He is a founding member of the Maine Professional Drivers Association and has served two terms as the group’s president. He now serves as the group’s executive director. He has been very active in civic events, especially those concerning the trucking industry. He has earned many awards over the years as a frequent competitor at the Maine Truck Driving Championships and was named 2015 Driver of the Year by the Maine Motor Transport Association.
