Alumni Band announces scholarship recipient

The Alumni Band announced that Rosemary Crimp, a graduating senior at Kennebunk High School, is this year’s recipient of the Marcel ‘Mike’ Drapeau Alumni Band Scholarship, receiving $1,000. Crimp was announced as the winner at the annual Marcel ‘Mike’ Drapeau Scholarship Benefit Concert that took place May 14 at First Congregational Church in Saco.

A surprise to the audience was Crimp’s impromptu performance of a French Aria.

Crimp is a gifted vocalist. A zest for performing, no venue is too small or too big. She has achieved many remarkable accomplishments, including soprano vocalist roles at church, school plays, operas, NASCAR speeday in New Hampshire, a Portland Tedx event, Ogunquit Playhouse, Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., Carnegie Hall in New York City and Milan, Italy. She has also been a participant in Maine All State all four years of high school, recognizing her being a leading talent in Maine.

Crimp’s persistence and vision is impressive. Her efforts have created her own opportunities and reality.

Beyond her musical acumen and persistence that will take her far, Crimp is a leader in her community as exemplified by her involvement in her parish and various organizations.

Rosemary will pursue college studies in vocal performance at Gordon College in the Boston area.
