Helene Groh Wakefield

Mrs. Inge Helene Groh Wakefield passed away on May 17, 2016 in Fayetteville, North Carolina, formerly of Lyman.

She was born on June 8, 1939 in Offenthal, Germany, daughter of George Groh and Elisabete Groh. On Aug. 8, 1958, she married the love of her life, Henry Oliver Wakefield. She had many jobs in her lifetime, from working in a factory at Vishay Sprague, to being a volunteer driving for Community Concepts in South Paris, then onto managing several campgrounds around the U.S. But, the most important job she held was being a stay at home mom for her children. She enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry; a grandchild, Michael; and a great grandchild, Coda. Mrs. Wakefield is survived by her four sons, Robert Wakefield of Dover Foxcroft, Raymond Wakefield and wife, Michelle of Bryant Pond, Kenneth Wakefield and wife, Barbara of Fayetteville, and David Wakefield and wife, Miranda of Wells; three daughters, Pamela Veilleux and fiancee, Marcel Villemaire of Biddeford, Cynthia Wakefield of Rhode Island, and Kristina Wakefield of Hope Mills; grandchildren, Christopher, Andrew, Justin, Corey, Cassandra, Jacob, Brittany, Jennifer, Jessica, Matthew, Kyle and Henry; and six great grandchildren, Cadence, Cyrus, Kacey, Damien, Shayden and Ellis. A burial will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2016, in Goodwin’s Mills Cemetery in Maine.
