Students help seniors with shoe drive

On Friday, Sept. 17, a group of seniors from Paul Hazelton House in Saco (a Volunteers of American Northern New England property) will collect used, gently worn or new shoes. The donation will help improve their quality of life as well as help microenterprise partners in developing nations for impoverished people to start their own businesses in places such as Haiti, Nicaragua, Togo, Honduras, Swaziland, Guatemala, Bolivia, Tanzania, Botswana, Benin, Zambia and Senegal.

The Shoe Drive will take place be held 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Thornton Academy’s Hill Stadium.
