Charter commission educates public on vote

To the editor:

Members of the Biddeford Charter Review Commission attended and took advantage of Household Hazardous Waste Days and used this golden opportunity to convey our positive message to Biddeford voters regarding charter review questions they will vote on Nov. 8. Your response was overwhelming and extremely gratifying. We stayed focus to be transparent and earn your trust. We really appreciate your numerous and generous comments. Thank you.

For those Biddeford registered voters that still need more information, please go to the city website (biddefordmaine.org), under the city clerk’s office, and see “Election Information.” Once the city clerk receives the official Sample Ballot from the printer, it will be posted on the website with a direct link to the sample ballot.

We had several Biddeford registered voters tell us how important and needed these recommended charter changes are, as they explained and defined what a charter is – a written document creating and defining the rudimentary rules to exert direction for the management of our city, established by society for society.

Remember, we all benefit from a well-informed voter. Please vote yes on the charter revision questions.

Paul Therrien, chairman Biddeford Charter Review Commission
