A friend to nature

This week a duck crossing sign went up in Old Orchard Beach after resident Brad Laverriere reported in July that ducks had been run over by a vehicle near his condo on West Grand Avenue. Laverriere said ducks often cross the road from an abutting marsh and that the driver who killed one duck and injured another in July never slowed down or stopped. “(I feel) relieved and proud that I accomplished a good thing for wildlife,” he said of the sign.
