Saco candidate will fight for the needs of seniors

To the editor:

Justin Chenette has gone above and beyond for seniors in our community.

In the Legislature, Justin co-sponsored the senior affordable housing bond that would provide $5 million to create senior housing development all across our state. Voters overwhelmingly went to the ballot box to pass this proposal, but sadly, the governor isn’t releasing the bond. Once again the governor is blocking progress. As such, Justin has signed onto a candidate pledge to co-sponsor legislation to demand release of the senior affordable housing bond. We can’t wait any longer.

The drugs for the elderly program is consistently on the chopping block. Justin fights to make sure this is not the case. It’s an example of how legislative elections matter in who you send to Augusta and advocate for our interests.

Justin has also recognized the negative impact of high property taxes, especially on those with fixed incomes. He has pushed for more resources into the property tax fairness credit and municipal revenue sharing, which helps provide communities funding for essential services that without it, property taxes would undoubtedly be even higher.

Justin is the real deal. He backs up his advocacy with action. Let’s send him to the Senate where he will continue to fight for seniors.
