State rep endorses fellow politician for Biddeford race

To the editor:

I’m writing in support of my colleague, Rep. Marty Grohman, who is running for re-election in Biddeford. Marty quickly emerged in the Maine House as a leader during his freshman term. He is well-liked and respected on both sides of the aisle, but his value goes far beyond that. He has become a go-to expert in a number of areas, especially in helping fellow legislators make sense of complex energy policy. He has been a leader in advocating for solar energy, and has been heavily involved in issues relating to small business, land conservation, and the environment.

I have seen him work tirelessly on behalf of his constituents, hosting tours for school groups and attending events, knocking on doors and corresponding. What’s less visible but no less important has been his effectiveness within the House, both as a communicator and an advocate. He brings a wealth of business experience, community experience and intellect to his work, and I for one hope the people of Biddeford will return him to Augusta for another term.

Rep. Erik C. Jorgensen Portland
