Church developers drop request for parking relief

SACO – Cutts Avenue, LLC has adjusted its plan to redevelop Notre Dame de Lourdes church to add sufficient off-street parking to meet the requirements of the city’s zoning ordinance. According to Frank Carr, who represented the development company at the Nov. 7 city council meeting, the contract zone agreement has been amended to remove the change to the requirement.

Carr was also asked about the company’s plans to use tax increment financing.

“There probably is a need for a public-private partnership,” Carr said in response. “We don’t know exactly how that’s structured.”

“Within the next couple of weeks we should be able to understand what it is we would like to go forward with on a partnership with the city,” Carr added.

The development company will have another community meeting at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Saco City Hall Auditorium.

Frank Carr is the director of business development for Hardypond Construction, a Portland business. In previous publications the Courier has referred to Cutts Avenue, LLC as “Hardypond.”
