JMG programs collect donations

Jobs for Maine Graduates students from Biddeford High School and Thornton Academy will host a collection drive the week before Thanksgiving break. The students will be collecting clothes, shoes and other items at BHS and Thornton Academy. In support of their drive will be local businesses from Biddeford and Saco. Each business will collect items for their school.

Join BHS and TA JMG students by dropping off clothing at a supporting business. The drive will benefit our efforts to help fund the adult rehabilitation center programs. The physical and spiritual care that program participants receive prepares them to re-enter society and return to gainful employment. Many of those who have been rehabilitated are reunited with their families and resume an active lifestyle. The event is scheduled to run from Monday, Nov. 14 to Friday, Nov. 18.

Parents of students can drop off donations at BHS or Thornton Academy. Residents of Saco can drop off items at Saco City Hall, People’s Choice Credit Union, Patriot Subaru and US Cellular. Residents of Biddeford can drop items off at the WonderBar Restaurant, Dupuis Hardware, Jaky’s and PeoplesChoice Credit Union. Boxes donated by Volk Packaging will be set up in each location. For more information, please contact Brian Heal at Biddeford High School, Scott Stinchcomb at Thornton Academy or call B. Moriarty at 878-8554, ext. 308.

Collected items will be weighed during the student’s vacation week. Salvation Army Administrator Major Ronald Bernardi will declare the winner when students return to school after Thanksgiving break.
