Honoring our veterans

Biddeford and Saco held a joint Veterans Day parade Friday, Nov. 11, that traveled from Saco, over York Hill and into downtown Biddeford. It ended with a ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park in Biddeford. Community groups and school bands marched in the parade. Above, Maleigh Brocher, 4, of Saco, was stationed on Main Street in Biddeford to watch the parade. Right, Ralph Goulet, an Army and Air Force veteran, pays tribute to fellow soldiers during the ceremony in Biddeford. Friday’s event was dedicted to Saco resident Linwood “Jake Mulligan,” a Vietnam veteran, who died Oct. 28. Mulligan served on the Board of Directors of Biddeford’s chapter of Vietnam Veterans of America and owned a business in Biddeford.
