Youth sports facility to open in former Portland Pirates arena

Maine Juniors, a Junior Olympic youth volleyball club now in its 16th year, announced its new facility, the Maine Sports Arena. The facility will serve youth and other sports in southern Maine as well as accommodate small and large corporate rentals, trade shows, concerts and more.

The arena will be housed in the former Portland Pirates Ice Arena at the OA Sports Center, 15 Lund Road in Saco. The project is currently in build out, with sports floors being installed and all facilities being brought up to speed to open for practices in the next few weeks. The 26,000-square-foot facility will include five volleyball courts, three basketball courts and be able to accommodate various other sporting and recreational activities. The facility also includes locker rooms, offices, lounge, party room and stadium seating.
