Thursday, March 9

Book discussion, “The Shack,” 6:30 p.m., Second Congregational Church, 19 Crescent St., Biddeford. Series will include a trip to see the movie and more discussion. FMI, call 284-7898.

Academic Showcase, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Biddeford High School and Biddeford Regional Center of Technology. Open to all.

Kettlebell exercise class, 5:30 to 6:15 p.m., J. Richard Martin Community Center, Alfred Street, Biddeford. For 18 and older. Drop in fee is $5.

Preschool story time, 10:30 a.m., Libby Memorial Library, 27 Staples St., Old Orchard Beach.

Story time, 11:30 a.m., Seeds of Hope Neighborhood Center, 35 South St., Biddeford. Includes activity and snack for children 3 to 6 years old. An adult must be present.

Sit & Be Fit, 1 to 1:30 p.m., Saco Community Center, Franklin Street. Gentle stretching, deep breathing and toning exercises using stretch bands and light weights. Held through Saco SENIORity.

Friday, March 10

Old Orchard Beach Alumni Basketball Classic, 6 p.m., Old Orchard Beach High School gym. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students/ seniors. Proceeds will benefit the present basketball programs at the high school and the Alumni Scholarship Fund.

Teen gaming, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., community room, McArthur Library, Biddeford. For video gamers or anyone who enjoys board games. All teens, grades six through 12, welcome. FMI, contact 284- 4181.

Saturday, March 11

Soup, chili, chowder supper, all-you-can-eat, 5 to 6:30 p.m., Trinity Episcopal Church, parking on church side of Cleveland and Street and on Summer Street. Hosted by the Episcopal Church of Women. Includes cornbread, rolls, beverage and dessert. FMI, call 284-4952.

Bean supper, 5 to 6:30 p.m., First Parish Congregational Church, 12 Beach St., Saco. Includes pea and kidney beans, hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, brown bread, dinner rolls, desserts and beverages. To go meals available.

Thornton Academy Middle School open house, 9 to 11 a.m. Parents can enroll their children for the 2017-2018 year. Annual children’s winter carnival to be held in Linnell Gymnasium.

Eastern Trail full moon walk, 7 p.m., meet at the rear of Southern Maine Health Care parking lot, Biddeford. Learn about plants and wildlife along trail, and trail’s history. Walks takes 90 minutes. No flashlights or pets. Leave electronics behind. FMI, call 283-4487.
