SOUTH PORTLAND, MAINE – Girl Scouts of Maine (GSME) is excited to kick off summer with tremendous opportunities at Girl Scout camp, where girls can explore the great outdoors, try new things, build their problemsolving skills, and more. GSME offers day, resident, troop and family camp.

Discovery Day Camp is where girls begin discovering friendships, fun activities, and the wonders of their natural world under the watchful eye of trained, caring staff. Day camp is being offered at Camp Scelkit in Kittery and Camp Pondicherry in Bridgton.

Resident Camp is an overnight camping This summer, camp #LikeAGirlScout! session where girls can explore the outdoors with specially-trained camp counselors at Camp Pondicherry in Bridgton or Camp Natarswi in Baxter State Park. GSME offers a number of sessions, from General Camp Programs to Specialty Programs where girls can delve theater, biking, sailing and rock climbing.

Maine Jazz Camp - All Levels and All Instruments/Vocal welcome

Since 1979, Maine Jazz Camp, located on the campus of the University of Maine at Farmington,has been introducing jazz to student musicians from all over Maine and beyond. Each week over 50 students participate in an atmosphere of campus living and jazz music, quickly assimilating its program of ensemble playing, improvisation and theory. The student body comprises mostly of high school and middle school students although adults are also welcome.

Over the years, Maine Jazz Camp has employed many of today’s most prominent New York based jazz musicians as faculty members and mentors. MJC faculty members are highly professional educators in established schools and universities (Columbia University, New England Conservatory, Peabody Conservatory, Berklee College of Music, Western Michigan University to name a few). Past and present faculty include Pete McCann, Frank Carlberg, John O’Gallagher, Kenny Wessel, Christine Correa, Kirk Knuffke, John Hollenbeck, Michael Formanek, Tony Malaby, John Hebert, Kris Davis, Alan Ferber, etc.

St. Peter’s Grand Slam Tennis Program

The summer tennis camps offered through the St. Peter's Grand Slam Tennis Programs are fun, yet challenging and instructional and cater to boys and girls ages 8 - 18 at all teaching pro's & college tennis players with Foreside Fitness & Tennis as our indoor backup if it rains. Former tennis players from our camps have gone on to play tennis at Harvard, Wheaton, Colby, Penn State, and many other Div. 1, 2 &3 schools. For the beginner, a progressive format is followed. Each session teaches basic tennis strokes and strategy in an enthusiastic, but low-pressure, environment. For the intermediate and advanced players, strokes, conditioning exercises, strategy, and competitive match play.

Pine Tree Camp

Pine Tree Camp, a program of Pine Tree Society, offers Maine children and adults with disabilities an extraordinary summer camp experience. The 285-acre facility is fully adapted to meet the special needs of campers. The barrier-free setting and commitment of staff allow campers to fully participate in activities that are not normally available to them like hiking on accessible nature trails, swimming, boating, playing adaptive tennis, Maine’s only accessible treehouse.

Overnight session spaces are available for children ages 8 to 18. Day camp spaces are available for children ages 5 to 12.

Farm Camp - Hands-in-the-dirt fun!

Farm Camp is looking forward to our 11th summer of hands-in-the-dirt fun! Farm Camp is a farm and ecology day camp for kids, ages 4-14, at Turkey Hill Farm in Cape Elizabeth and The Morris Farm in Wiscasset. These two organic farms are engaged in local, sustainable agriculture. Kids learn through fun, hands-on activities digging in the garden, doing farm chores, caring for farm animals, exploring forest and pond habitats and lots of creative outdoor play. We grow organic fruits and vegetables in the Children’s Garden, collect eggs from the hens, and pick wild and cultivated berries. We catch frogs and aquatic insects in the pond, build fairy houses and forts in the woods and create art projects using the gifts of nature. Back again this summer is Farm Trek, a week of adventure for 10-14 year olds. This program begins at Turkey Hill Farm in Cape Elizabeth and camp-out.

Farm Camp is open throughout the summer and has part time or full time options with after care available until 5:00. We have been part of the Portland waterfront for over 20 years, and offer affordable sailing to the community. We run regattas in the spring and summer, and offer programs to get every member of our community out sailing on beautiful Casco Bay!

MSSM Summer Camp: Challenge the mind and develop interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics

The Maine School of Science and Mathematics is celebrating its 20th year of summer camp. We offer week-long experiences for campers ages 10-14. Our campers choose from a variety of hands-on science, technology, engineering and mathematics courses. Campers partake in interactive learning experiences while also enjoying the fun of traditional summer camp. We are offering over 20 different courses this year including Rocketry, Computer Programming, Built to Last Engineering, Making Math Magic, Physics Olympics, LEGO Robotics--to name a few. We also provide a variety of afternoon activities such as sports, crafts, swimming, and exciting evening programs. Aucocisco School Summer Programs- Have fun and learn with us this summer!

Aucocisco School is a private special purpose school and an after-school learning center that provides students who learn differently with an opportunity to participate in a quality remedial and compensatory education in a caring learning individual needs. Serving elementary, middle and high school students, Aucocisco is a fulltime school that also offers a variety of summer programs.

Academic Programs include intensive 1-to- 1 Lindamood-Bell reading instruction, intensive small-group reading, writing, and math instruction (for elementary, middle, and high school students whose academic skills are at least one year behind their grade placement), and individualized summer tutoring and summer school make-up classes. Our Coaching programs address executive functioning and ADHD.

Our afternoon Social Programs for students ages 8 to young adult promote relationship building and foster skill development. Backstage, a dramabased social pragmatics program integrates theater games and highly motivating, ageappropriate activities. Also offered are afternoon social enrichment programs in music, robotics and boat building!

Transition Programs offer SAT, ACT and Accuplacer preparation, and transition planning for grades 9 through post high school.

Gestalt Parent Coaching offers strengthsbased parenting for families and individuals. Coaching is an appropriate choice for those families, parents, children, teens and young adults who voice an interest in and commitment to making their situation more successful on an ongoing basis.
