William A. “Bill” Thomas

William A. “Bill” Thomas, 69, of Biddeford, died unexpectedly at York Hospital on July 1, 2017.

Bill was born Nov. 29, 1947, in Somerville, Massachusetts. He attended Cambridge High and Latin graduating in 1965.

He then attended Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institution in South Portland majoring in culinary arts.

He began his career as a chef working at various restaurants in Maine, Sausalito, California, Florida and as a Boy Scout cook at Camp Winnie in New Hampshire.

His interests were varied.

He owned and operated the Rosebud Tattoo Shop in Saco and Sanford for many years.

He was also a commercial driver and motorcycle enthusiast.

This summer he was to spend his fifth year driving the Shoreline Explorer Bus Route in Wells, a job he loved. He was also a volunteer driver for the Southern Maine Agency on Aging.

Bill was a devoted son, brother, good friend, artist and gentle giant. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is the beloved son of Alba R. (Palmacci) Thomas of Medford, formerly of Cambridge and the late Albert Thomas. Devoted brother of Teresa Thomas and her husband Gerald Manley of Minnesota, dear uncle of Thomas Manley and his wife Suzanne Walsh of Minnesota, Ellen Manley and her husband Gerry Kavanaugh of Becket, Massachusetts. Great uncle of Iris and Arlo. Special cousin of Joseph Diaz Sokolski and his husband Pedro of Medford. Also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends and his two beloved dogs Maggie and Jiggs who now have good homes with loving friends.
