The concerts are sponsored by West Kennebunk United Methodist Church. Molsky will take the stage 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17. The church is located at 160 Alfred Road in West Kennebunk.

Molsky is a self-described “street kid” from the Bronx who bailed on college and big city life to follow his passion for authentic Appalachian mountain music.

He moved to Virginia to learn at the feet of the music’s legendary pioneers, old masters who are now long gone. He learned his lessons well; he is now acknowledged as a master musician in his own right, equally accomplished on fiddle, banjo and guitar. He is regarded as the classic musician’s musician.

For decades, he’s been a globetrotting performer, playing at venues ranging from tiny folk taverns in the British Isles to huge festival stages.
