Biddeford, Saco ballots set; OOB soon

The deadline to return nomination papers for the Tuesday, Nov. 7 election has passed in Saco and Biddeford. The following individuals have returned papers on time with the appropriate number of signatures and will appear on the 2017 ballot:

In Saco, Marston D. Lovell and Donald E. Pilon will run for mayor. Mayor Ronald Michaud will not seek reelection. The positions of mayor and city councilor for all seven wards are two-year terms. Marshall Archer and Matthew DiCianni will run for the Ward 1 seat, as David Precourt will not seek reelection. Incumbent Roger Gay will run unopposed for the Ward 2 council seat. Barbara E. Colman and incumbent William P. Doyle will run for the Ward 3 council seat. Lynn H. Copeland and Michael Burman will run for Ward 4 council seat, as Kevin Roche will not seek reelection. Incumbent Alan R. Minthorn will run unopposed for the Ward 5 council seat. Theodore Sirois, Micah A. Smart and Jason C. Boucher will run for the Ward 6 council seat, as Eric B. Cote will not seek reelection. Incumbent Nathan D. Johnston will run unopposed for the Ward 7 council seat. Incumbent Lynn M. Leary will run unopposed for school board member from Ward 2. Stephen Shiman will run unopposed for school board member from Ward 4. Stanley Mozden will run unopposed for school board member from Ward 6.

In Biddeford, incumbent Alan M. Casavant will run unopposed for the twoyear position of mayor. Incumbent Michael J. Swanton and Kathleen E. Russell will run for the Ward 1 council seat. William W. Moriarty and Incumbent John A. McCurry Jr. will run for Ward 2 council seat. Incumbent Stephen P. St. Cyr will run unopposed for the Ward 3 council seat. Incumbent Robert E. Quattrone Jr. will run unopposed for the Ward 3 council seat. Incumbent Victoria Foley will run unopposed for the Ward 5 council seat. Incumbent Norman R. Belanger will run unopposed for the Ward 6 council seat. Incumbent Michael J. Ready will run for the Ward 7 council seat. Incumbents Marc P. Lessard and Laura A. Seaver will run unopposed for the councilor-at-large seats. Incumbent Lisa M. Vadnais, incumbent Karen S. Ruel, incumbent Crystal Blais, incumbent Dennis R. Anglea, Anthony A. Michaud, Jerry L. Tremblay, incumbent Dominic Deschambault and Vassie J. Fowler will run for positions on the school committee, all seven of which are up for reelection.

Nomination papers for the town of Old Orchard Beach must be returned by 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25.
