The 24th annual Old Orchard Beach Car Show featured a parade, breakfast, awards and trophy presentation. The event ran from 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16 and was sponsored by the Old Orchard Beach Chamber of Commerce. General admission was $3 per person and benefitted the Old Orchard Beach Call Fire Department. Above, Geny Therio, left, and Jeff Watts beside Watts’ 1953 GMC. Watts has owned his truck for almost three years. Watts enjoys how simple and fun the truck is to drive. Right, this 1932 Ford is Barry Meserve’s sixth antique car. He and his wife, Jean Warner, live in South Portland. Meserve raced cars at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough for more than 50 years before he decided it was time to take a break. He also worked as a mechanic for the South Portland and Scarborough Police Departments. Meserve worked for 45 years total between the two departments and was the only mechanic for 35 vehicles.
