Local businesses are backbone of community

To the editor:

The Thornton Academy Boys Soccer Team would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to Paul and Michele Dussault and the entire Dussault family for recently hosting us at Joseph’s by the Sea in Old Orchard Beach.

On Oct. 24 Thornton Academy Boys Soccer held a dinner fundraiser at this wonderful establishment. The evening was a great success for the program.

The coaching staff would like to say thanks to all the parents and players for volunteering their time, efforts and baking expertise. In particular, the Dussault family for hosting us, Lori LaBrecque working with numerous individuals for organizing, and Coach Peter Benham and Coach Colin Benham for managing the evening.

A community is judge by the types of people who reside in it. It is terrific caring individuals like you that make the Thornton Academy Soccer Program, all our student activities, and the greater Saco community wonderful.

For those members of the community who joined us that evening, we hope you enjoyed the delicious food in a great setting. It is local businesses like Joseph’s by Sea that make Maine the way life should be.

Andrew A. Carlson, head coach Thornton Academy
