A story in the Dec. 14 edition of the Courier should have said that Island Terrace Owners Association was granted a deed-in-lieu of foreclosure in June of 2015 by Unit 91, LLC. Dirigo Management Company Vice President Bob Keegan wrote that this was the result of the nonpayment of fees by Unit 91, LLC for several years which totaled more than $300,000. In fall 2015 Island Terrace Owners Association received a tax bill for approximately $11,000 from the city of Saco. The bill was paid to the city upon receipt.

In mid-December 2015 Island Terrace Owners Association received notice from the city that there was a previous tax lien against Unit 91, LLC from 2013 for $11,274.22 and that Island Terrace Owners Association had until Jan. 11, 2016 to pay in full or the city would exercise its rights to foreclose on the 2013 tax lien. Having just gone through several major capital projects at the property Island Terrace Owners Association did not have the available funds to satisfy the 2013 lien that it inherited.

On January 20, 2016 Island Terrace Owners Association received notice from the city of Saco that it had taken possession of Unit 91. The total unpaid taxes at the time that the city took possession was $11,274.22. The amount of unpaid taxes at the time was for a six-month period in 2013.
