Robert Worthing, Jr.

Robert Douglas Worthing, Jr., 56, of Waterboro, passed suddenly on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018 at home with his family by his side.

Rob was born in Biddeford on Sept. 25, 1961, to Judith (Kimball) Dickinson and Robert D. Worthing, Sr.

Rob is survived by his wife of 28 years, Joan Desmarais Worthing of Waterboro, his sons, Timothy of Riverside, Rhode Island, and James of Waterboro, and step-daughter Bonnie Samilov of Biddeford; grandchildren, Skye Gosselin and Jake Samilov of Biddeford; parents, Lee and Judith Dickinson, of Kennebunk, brothers Douglas Worthing and wife Cindy of Arundel, Christopher Dickinson and wife Michelle, of Turlock, California, sister Kim (Dickinson) Berry, and husband Mark of Waterboro; Jim and wife, Renee of Sanford, Darrell, and wife Jenn of Wells and nieces Abigail Worthing of Arundel, Amelia Worthing Bshara and husband Thomas of Limerick; nephews; Chase and Camden Berry of Waterboro and Andrew Martinez of Turlock, CA. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by stepson Josh Mondor and father, Robert D. Worthing, Sr.

Rob grew up in Kennebunk, raised by his mother and stepfather Lee Dickinson, who raised Rob and younger brother, Doug, as his own. He attended Kennebunk schools, graduating from Kennebunk High School in 1980. While attending KHS, he excelled at baseball and basketball, where he was part of the 1978-79 JV basketball team that went 17-1, as its starting center.

Rob worked for many years in the print industry. First working for the Journal Tribune as an offset lithographer and then William Arthur in pre-press.

He was a lifetime Boston Red Sox, Celtics and New England Patriots fan. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. There will be a celebration of Rob’s Life 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18 at American Legion Post 159,102 Main St., Kennebunkport.
