Giving back

Biddeford Middle School Music Teacher Amy Delorge accepts a donated flute from Greg Carbonella, fellow student and housemate of Deane Kenny Stryker at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. Stryker was fatally stabbed in the library in her hometown of Winchester, Massachusetts, and Carbonella wanted to honor her memory in a positive manner. “I frequently heard Deane playing her flute in the house as it was her outlet – some people have sports, hers was music,” he said. “I think Deane would appreciate someone else having the opportunity to carry out their musical interest so it seemed fitting to donate one in her memory.” (Courtesy photo) Biddeford Middle School Music Teacher Amy Delorge accepts a donated flute from Greg Carbonella, fellow student and housemate of Deane Kenny Stryker at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine.
