Retreats to be held at Marie Joseph Spiritual Center

“Experiencing the Peace and Freedom of Forgiveness” will be held May 4-6 with Michele DeSimone at Marie Joseph Spiritual Center in Biddeford.

The weekend is an opportunity to experience the grace, peace and freedom that forgiveness brings through the gentle embrace of an all-loving God. Let God’s love open your heart, to allow His forgiveness to enter – for yourself and for others.

“Praying with Hearts and Hands,” a prayer shawl retreat with Connie Bartleson and Marsha Hafferty, will be held May 18-20 at Marie Joseph.

Join the Holy Knitters Prayer Shawl Ministry as participants share in the care of God’s people by using the gifts of their hands to knit or crochet sacred prayer shawls. Prayers and blessings are woven into the shawls as their hands work to fashion them. Shawls are then given to people for comfort, healing or in celebration.

“Centering Prayer - Going Deeper in our Relationship with God,” with Bill Sheehan will be held May 25-27.

The retreat weekend will provide an opportunity to deepen spiritual lives of participants by exploring the following questions: How do we access our “inner room”? How do we go deeper into that inner place where God dwells? What begins to happen when we access it? How does God respond? How does our relationship with Him deepen and how does our prayer life change?

A one-day retreat, “The Word of God Abiding in You” with Ann Boyle, will be held 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 9 at Marie Joseph.

God’s Word is blossoming everywhere. To discover God’s Word in daily quest requires a special kind of presence and openness. The day will include a short presentation prayer, scripture, time for personal reflection and sharing.
