Choose new face for state rep

To the editor:

When I talked to Lori Gramlich about why she is running for the Maine House, what struck me is her commitment to the Old Orchard Beach community and enthusiasm for bringing her leadership to Augusta to make a difference. Lori and her husband are small business owners and active in the community, including serving on the board of Friends of the Ballpark. She understands Old Orchard’s vibrant past and exciting future and has the experience to represent our community’s voice and needs at the statehouse.

There are so many difficult political issues that are important to this working and middle class town – health care, safe schools, job creation, infrastructure – just to name a few. Lori has an impressive resume of experience that makes her the perfect person to be elected to the House. She has experience in state government, including working in the Legislature and Department of Health and Human Services, is executive director of the Maine Chapter of National Association of Social Workers, over 30 years of experience of nonprofit and advocacy work, and was elected to the Portland School Committee. When I learned this, I realized just how committed she is to contributing to making a difference. It is something she has done her entire life, and this is exactly what we need right now, and why I’m supporting Lori Gramlich for Maine House of Representatives.
