Vet to show films at Engine in Biddeford

U.S. Navy SEAL, Middle East veteran and veteran activist Robert Foley will give a presentation about his work as a facilitator with Artists For Peace And Freedom-United States. Foley will show two short at documentaries at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018 at 6:00pm at Engine, 128 Main St., Biddeford.

More than 22 veterans commit suicide every day. Foley’s art therapy work with veterans has been effective in saving lives of veterans struggling with PTSD. Foley guides the veteran in transferring their own personal pain, both mental and physical, onto a canvas by throwing paint, in the manner of abstract expressionist painter Jackson Pollock. Foley was injured as a U.S. Navy SEAL and lives with chronic pain throughout his entire body. He himself has found relief from chronic pain through his expressionist art and caring for horses.
