Retired educators bring back fair

York County Retired Educators Association will continue the tradition of sponsoring a fall fair after taking a few years off. The fair had been held for nearly 20 years, providing money for its scholarship fund. It will be held 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 at Kennebunk High School, as it was before, but the school is brand new and will offer a new look for the fair.

Any profits will go to Seeds of Hope, a neighborhood resource center in Biddeford.

The fair will include a used book sale, a baked goods table, 50/50 raffle and luncheon. A new raffle this year will include themed baskets: Thanksgiving, chocolate lover’s, Maine, children’s books, patriotic, kitchen, tree trimming and family game night. We will also increase the number of outside crafters participating.

The organization will accept crafter applications until the week before the fair. The cost is $30 for a space that is 10 feet wide and 6 feet deep. Tables and electricity will be available for an extra $5. For an application, contact Rosemarie Smith at or 680-0342.
