Maine Water announces hires

The Maine Water Company continues to add professional staff to its workforce, to facilitate the company’s mission of providing clean drinking water in 12 public water systems throughout the state. Mary Jane Dillingham has joined Maine Water as director of water quality, and Austin Scaplan has been hired as an engineer.

Dillingham will be responsible for technical oversight and compliance assistance for all public water systems owned or operated by the company, including source water protection, resource planning and management, treatment process selection and Safe Drinking Water Act and Clean Water Act requirements. She will also serve as lab director and quality assurance officer for Maine Water’s state-certified laboratories, providing oversight and audit functions to ensure state wide environmental regulatory compliance and stewardship. Dillingham has 30 years of experience in the water utility industry.

Scaplan recently completed a masters degree in sustainable engineering at Villanova University, to complement his BS in civil engineering. He will provide technical support and service to all of Maine Water’s public water systems. His focus will be supporting the annual capital improvement program and operating the GIS, hydraulic simulation and asset management software systems employed to properly maintain and store Maine Water’s electronic records.
